She was the Chair of the Coventry Secondary Education Partnership for 4 years and worked strategically with schools and local authority colleagues. She has taught Key Stage 3, GCSE and A level in a variety of 11-18 schools. As well as school improvement, she has been involved in school governance for 15 years and is currently a governor at a Solihull primary school and most recently a director at a Coventry Multi Academy Trust. She has a Masters in Educational Leadership and has completed her National Professional Qualification in Executive Leadership.

Sarah was appointed CEO of Elements Trust in January 2023. She was previously headteacher of Christ Church CofE Primary school and, from November 2021, this headship role was combined with the Executive Headship of St Mary’s CofE Primary school. In 2021-22, Sarah supported both schools through their conversion to academy status and helped form a collaborative learning community within the four founding schools.

Sarah qualified in 1990 and worked as a teacher and school leader in a range of Birmingham and Dudley schools before joining Christ Church CofE Primary in 2004. Whilst teaching and leading in a range of primary schools, each with their own distinct challenges, Sarah developed a passion for educational change and development and is fully committed to the education of all children and young people, irrespective of their starting point.

Gregg is the Chief Finance Officer of Elements Trust. He has over 15 years’ experience of working in finance in both the private and education sector. He began his career in practice, working for Midlands based chartered accountants before moving into the education sector where he has worked as business manager in local authority maintained schools and as a CFO in academy trusts.

Gregg is a firm believer in the benefits that being part of a trust can bring to a school. He works to ensure that the finance provision at Elements Trust supports educational objectives in an effective and efficient way as possible. As CFO, he has responsibility for all Trust finances, including external compliance and the internal financial control environment.

Gemma Martin has worked as a leader in a range in Church of England primary schools in Worcestershire and Warwickshire for the past 12 years. Prior to taking on formal leadership roles, she worked as a Leader Teacher for Maths in Worcestershire, supporting colleagues in varying schools to improve outcomes in this subject.

Gemma has worked as in a joint role as Head Teacher and as a School Effectiveness Adviser for the Diocese of Worcester Education Team. Her most recent school was subject to a rapid journey of improvement, securing a positive inspection outcome in March 2023.

Gemma’s role within the Diocese of Worcester Education team involves supporting schools within the Diocese in a wide range of ways, including curriculum development, leadership support, delivery of training and targeted projects to improve pupil outcomes. Gemma also leads on the delivery of the NPQSL for the Diocese of Worcester.

Since the formation of the Elements Diocesan Learning Trust, Gemma has worked in the capacity as School Effectiveness Adviser with dedicated time assigned to the four founding schools, supporting their school improvement work and holding teachers and leaders to account for progress against the school’s agreed priorities.

In addition, Gemma also carried out work as a School Improvement Consultant for Worcestershire Children First (Local Authority), working with focus schools to provide support and challenge at various points on their improvement journeys.

Spencer joined the Diocese of Worcester Education Team in the summer of 2022, as the Deputy Director of Education. This followed nearly 25 years of working in primary schools within Worcestershire, mainly in Church of England schools.

Beginning as a class teacher he went on to lead and develop the subject areas of science, IT and PE. As a deputy headteacher, he worked with the wider leadership team to take the school from Requires Improvement to Good with outstanding features, before going on to a headship of his own.

Under his leadership as headteacher, the over-subscribed school was asked to expand from a one to a two-form entry by the local authority, and he oversaw its growth from 200 to nearly 400 pupils over the period of six years. During this time, the school underwent two successful Ofsted and SIAMs inspections, the latter being graded as outstanding.

Since joining the Diocese of Worcester, Spencer has carried out a number of key roles, including school improvement, focussing on the reviewing the quality of education through undertaking regular reviews of schools, leading on NPQs in conjunction with the Church of England. He now leads and manages the suite of NPQs offered for schools within the Diocese of Worcester, as well as its five neighbouring dioceses.

Lisa joined Elements Trust as School Improvement Advisor in January 2025. Most recently she was Headteacher of a Primary School in Dudley, leading it through two successful Ofsted Inspections. The school was nationally recognised by Historic England for their innovative approach to curriculum using local heritage, leading to the award of Champion Heritage Status.

She qualified to teach in 2004, working first as a teacher then school leader in a range of schools in Wolverhampton. During this time, as Deputy Headteacher, she worked with the Headteacher to take a school out of Special measures followed by leading a second school from Special measures to Good with Outstanding features as Acting Headteacher.

Lisa is committed to providing a high standard of education for all children and has a particular interest on inclusion in mainstream settings having led the opening of a commissioned SEND base during her last headship.
